Feeling demotivated? Can’t seem to get out of bed for some reason? Here are some thoughts that will hopefully put a smile on your face and help you take the day head on!

1.  You’re alive!

We take life for granted far too often for our good. So rejoice in the fact that you’re alive and breathing right now. Don’t squander this opportunity and as they say, carpe diem!

2. You have Internet access.

The fact that you’re reading this right now means you have some form of privilege, regardless of what your current situation is. Let’s choose to look at the blessings we have been graced with.

3. A bed to sleep in.

At the end of a long and exhausting day, very few things can beat that feeling of falling into bed and snuggling under some warm covers to rest. Sure, it makes it that much more difficult to get up, but that’s why beds are awesome.

Ever have that thought, “If I ended things now, it wouldn’t make things any different”? Greatest lie ever.

4. A job, a school, a new opportunity.

An office, a school or a chance for revamping your path in life awaits you as soon as you wake up, so there’s no time to whine about your workload or that course deadline or the depressing monotony of unemployment when you’re granted every chance to make the most of what’s been handed to you.

5. That cup of coffee or tea waiting to be brewed.

Sometimes, nothing else can really get us going like a fantastic cuppa early in the morning, freshly brewed and ready.

6. The beginning of a new week.

Congratulations for surviving long enough to see another week! If last week wasn’t too great, you have this upcoming one to resolve any mistakes and move forward.

7. Someone cares about you.

Ever have that thought, “If I ended things now, it wouldn’t make things any different”? Greatest lie ever. Your loved ones, friends, even an Internet stranger is capable of feeling compassion for you because we all understand what it’s like to be human.

Just putting a smile on your face is enough to make your mind believe that greater things are ahead.

8. If you’re struggling, it just means you haven’t given up.

Apathy is defeat. So continue holding on, because even if the struggle is real, so is the payoff at the end of it all.

9. In darkness, a light shines brighter.

Even a tiny flame can light up an entire room that was encased in darkness. Just putting a smile on your face is enough to make your mind believe that greater things are ahead.

10. God created you, just like all the other wonders of the universe.

And that means you’re a wonder of creation as well.
