With a candid yet powerful campaign slogan like HIJUP’s “Look Good. Do Good. Feel Good”, there leaves very little doubt of what a successful e-commerce platform like HIJUP stands for in terms of its values. Held from the 9th to 10th of June 2017 at The Hall, Senayan City, HIJUP’s Ramadan Festival embodied these standards by calling all Muslimahs from far and wide to attend the activity-packed affair. With an exciting line-up of model auditions, fashion shows, Islamic talks and talk-show style interviews as well as a promise of more than fifty booths and fashion brands to browse through, the festival was beautifully organized with every last detail down to pat.

At the best of times, there is always an inkling of doubt of how well fashion and religion can coexist when put on the same plane. However, HIJUP entertains no misgivings when it comes to how seriously it takes its modest viewpoint, as it puts up an empowering front with the help of rousing talks by revered Ustadzahs.

Ustadz Yusuf Mansyur, for instance, talks about the love of the Quran as a source of knowledge while relating to religious guidelines to uphold when dealing with the challenges of the times. He encourages Muslims to fall in love with the Quran, as a genuine relationship with the Holy Book enforces a more peaceful and level-headed way of conducting one’s self both on the inside and the outside. By truly understanding the teachings of the Quran and applying it wherever possible in our everyday lives, it reflects in the way we carry ourselves as Muslims, particularly in the way we act, speak and think.

To drive these revelations home, the best in the field were called to play in a special talk-show session held by HIJUP’s CEO herself, Diajeng Lestari, accompanied by Brand Ambassador Dian Pelangi and special guest star, Dato Siti Nurhaliza. While Diajeng Lestari elaborated on the business front with her viewpoints as a female entrepreneur, she also alluded to how the entire Ramadan Festival was not just a celebration of the Holy Month, but also an epitome of how to “Look Good. Do Good. Feel Good”. Not only is it a synergy of successfully merging modest fashion and Islam together, but the event also does its part by raising money with Urban Syiar and Ukhwah for Ummah to fund the building of a Quran house in Karawang, Indonesia as well as a mosque in Senville, Spain.

Dato Siti Nurhaliza, on the other hand, talked about her personal development of being a Muslimah and her journey of wearing the hijab full time. When asked if it was a result of her embarking on her Hajj, she mentioned that while her pilgrimage had set the wheels in motion, the entire learning process was a slow but personal one before she beautifully came into her own.

As the cherry on top, the HIJUP Fashion Show showcasing Riamiranda’s collaboration with Aidijuma, capped the event by gracing the runway with a flurry of modest and elegant designs. The joint effort will be the first of its kind between the Riamiranda, an anchor brand at HIJUP and Aidijuma, which is HIJUP’s very first foreign brand available at the online shopping mall.

The Ramadan Festival is an impressive and exquisite example of what it’s like to #EmpowerChange, which is the company’s main mission and objective. It is apparent that curating the perfect balance between both Islam and modest fashion is part of what HIJUP does best, evident from how beautifully both meshed well together during the entire event.

Throughout the event, a certain sense of harmony and excitement pervaded the atmosphere as likeminded Muslimahs bonded and socialized while enjoying the opportunity to break their fast and even pray together.

Aside from multiple shopping bags filled with great finds to style their Eid ensembles for the coming month, attendees also left teeming with the positive vibes that the festival exuded from every corner and booth. The high that accompanied that knowledge that the event was created by HIJUP, with a bigger and better cause in mind, thanks to the proceeds being donated to humanitarian efforts, was just the icing on the cake that has left us already anticipating the next one!
